This event has raised over $10,000 for childhood cancer to date. Help us "chip away at childhood cancer"! Optimist Club of Madison Foundation Inc. is hosting the Chip Away at Childhood Cancer Memorial Golf Outing on Friday, September 16, 2011 at the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin. The outing is dedicated to the memory of David Hague--a long-time member of the Downtown Madison Optimist Club who succumbed to cancer in April 2006. Eighty percent of the proceeds from this outing will go to the MACC Fund, an organization that funds research for pediatric cancer and related blood disorders, in David's honor. The remaining twenty percent of the proceeds will go toward Dane County youth projects. The event is open to golfers of all experience levels (it's a scramble!). Registration on the day of the event begins at noon, with a 1 P.M. shotgun start. A silent auction and banquet will follow the golfing event. The cost for golf, cart and the banquet is just $150 per golfer. For those that are not interested in golfing, join us for the festivities at the banquet beginning at 6 P.M. for only $30. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
